Yep Munich is awful, high at 500mm over NN and in winter very cold.
Many exots are not growing in Munich for a long time. Most regions of mid and southern germaný are very rough in winter, becuase of the hills with 1000-1500meters (Rhoen, Schwarzwald, Alp, Bayerischer wald, Eifel etc...). But only the river dales have good climate for exots. Nearly like the coasts of northern and eastern sea, but no wind, more arid days and much warmer in summer so the growing and the cultivation is much better. Also Winter Decay can regenerate faster.
You know Ficus friuts are cultivated at the donau 100km north of Munich "Bayernfeige" or in Baden Würtemberg "Pfälzerfeige". Tasted well sweet. ;)
my friend in Bergen, near the stadium had only sometimes ficus fruits.
Cordylis is growing well, but he has a rain protection.
