Yes in Freiburg -5,9°C as record in mid of october 2009, yes but not -10 or -24°C!! That´s only on the zugspitze in 3000m height, like the articel said. ;-)

Yes that were extrem cold nights (-5,9°C in Freiburg, -3°C in Nürnberg but that happens one in 30 years, not otherwise you wrote.
22°c in October arte more usual then -5°C in Freiburg ;-)... but i agree, in our region cold nights could can always happen and are dangerous for our hobby.
