Hello, in coast area photinia fraseri red robin is hard enough.
Even in West and South Germany the photinias are grown in tree nurseries now.
So protect with mulch and watering in winter. Sometimes you have to cut the ends of the branches...that´s all.
They have white bleeding and the new lafes are red. Very nice.

Mine survived all with small damages five with -16°C at night.

But in USDA Zone 6 und lower you could forget them...
