Fargesia murieliae
Umbrella Bamboo. Culms are bright green
during the first season, maturing to powderblue-
green the second year. Murieliae is more
upright than nitida. Powder blue stalks are
visible through the soft, pendulous foliage. An
outstanding bamboo when used near water
or as a container specimen. In Europe it is used
extensively for hedges. Recently flowered in
1995. New generation plants available.
